I'm doing Special Edition package for Mirror Mask. I like this movie a lot, some people say it looks like a horror movie, but it's not, it's a fairy tale for children. I'm still developing the box. Most likely it will look something like second from the bottom version, I like the "wave" shape of the cut, and it allows me to cut the logo right between the words. I've ordered the book and still waiting for it so I didn't do much in terms of changing the images. Thank you all!

I'm doing re-design for The Healing Garden collection. The items I'm planning to include in a new line will be: body wash, body lotion, candles, reed diffusers and bath salt. Natural, Organic, Aroma and Relax Therapy are the key words for new concept.

These are couple more samples of box noodles. Same idea, just adding a pattern and color coding the flavor: green - for vegan, pink - for shrimp, purple - for beef and orange - for chicken.

And, the third idea is to re-design package for top ramen. Existing one is a sort of a plastic bag, I'd like to make a box for this product. Have not decided on the final shape, however, here are samples for top sections.

Besides box noodles I'm planning to create packaging for chow main (same 4 flavors) following the same look, and here is my sample. Die lines and shape of the box (or possible belly band?) are in progress.

these are my further explorations and refinements of box noodles. I made the whole line of 4 flavors: chicken, beef, shrimp and vegan. Simple and minimal. I'm still working on instructions. Let me know what you think, Thanks!

The Emerge exhibition at Loyla Marymount was an incredible experience. It was great to see the design work created by undergrad and grad students under one roof! It was helpful to see what other schools' approaches ans influences are. Usually student artwork is not considered seriously enough, however, this show exhibited many extremely creative solutions and rendered very professionally at the same time. My favorite pieces were “aMoire” by Whitney Wolfe (LMU) and “Typographic Landscape of Cultural Identity” by Andrea Mendez (Woodbury). The exhibition hall was so crowded! It was good and bad; good because it attracted many people’s attention, and bad because it was impossible to take a closer look at the artwork.

I am re-designing the packaging for NISSIN Foods products: cup noodles, top ramen and chow mein. The flavors are: chicken, beef, shrimp and vegan. Although it's not a home-made food, I'm trying to communicate the idea of welcoming, warm, inviting mood for busy people' meal. Also, it should have a sense of Japanese traditions. I'm trying to design a box that would be fun to open. At the same time, it's all about convenience.

BAD packaging #3:

Oh, Jelly Belly! Sorry, but this box looks really boring, there is nothing special... perhaps, except the red color... looks like this product has been on shelves since the Firts World War. It's just another rectangular box with some king of a candy that you can find in 99 cent stores... 

BAD packaging#2:

Cereal... although there are some text lines on the package saying "whole grain" and "cinnamon toasters", from 3 yard distance these huge bags look like pets' litter items... br-r-r-r... 

BAD packaging #1:

Bad....  There is really nothing exciting about these boxes, what's even worse is that they look like some kind of cleaning chemicals although they are vitamin drinks... don't look delicious, inviting.. might be good stuff, however, if I didn't know and decided to try something new I would never  buy them because of their look

GOOD packaging #3:

Cereal package by Archer Farms: cute and useful! Good storage container. Nice colors and shape,  and on the top there is a lid so it's easier to pour cereal in the bowl.

GOOD packaging #2:

Coffee tin by Archer Farms - again, looks great! functional - you can store the coffee in this tin for a while and totally use it even after for other needs.

Wine boxes/cubes - look nice, each of them could be a nice centerpiece for a party table, and functional as well, easy to carry and recyclable too!
